Assessment
As with all first visits at Kooyong Physiotherapy Centre with Clinical Pilates we begin with an assessment. In this visit you can expect:
- 1:1 assessment starts with a thorough discussion of your past medical history and any current injuries
- Relevant physical examination of any current injuries
- Explanation of the role of clinical Pilates and the purpose of the exercises
- Assessment of current core strength
- Education of role of core muscles and how to engage them
- Preliminary exercises to practice at home

Treatment
At Kooyong Physiotherapy Centre we teach individualised Pilates method exercises in small groups of 3-4 people. We design a program for you and supervise and progress you in a group environment.
If the group environment is inappropriate for your stage of injury we also offer 1:1 pilates sessions to best fit your needs.
We use a combination of mat based exercises and equipment based (reformer, trapezius table, resistance bands, weights, etc.) exercises.

Reassessment
It is important when doing any exercise program for a period of time to have regular reassessments to see how things have changed.
We can arrange periodic 1:1 assessments to discuss your progress and have a more individualised look at your program that you do in the group and any other home based exercises performed by you outside the clinic. This is a great chance to re-establish your goals or set new ones as your strength and function increases.
