Assessment
At Kooyong Physiotherapy Centre we begin with an initial assessment of your condition. This means thoroughly noting the history of your injury or condition including reviewing any relevant investigations that you may previously had that are relevant to the current condition. We will review any other investigations or other relevant medical history to understand how your health as a whole may be impacted by your current injury. The next stage is to perform a clinical examination. To assess the body through movement tests and determine which parts of your body are leading to your current problem. Once we have identified the problem then we can get started on the treatment.

Treatment
Expert management is important to maximise your body's natural repair process in order to return to normal activities of daily living, sport and work as quickly and effectively as possible. We take pride in understanding the impacts of your injury and will support you through the stages of recovery by:
Treating your injury using manual techniques such as:
- Joint mobilisation
- Soft tissue techniques
- Dry Needling
- Taping and bracing
Exercise prescription -
Tailoring specific exercises to address muscle imbalances, weaknesses, joint stiffness, poor motor patterns, pain or to assist the body’s natural healing process.
We educate you to understand your condition and on supportive postures as well as learning positions or movements to avoid.

Rehabilitation
Once past the acute phase of your injury guidance and management is required to return you fully to all your actives of daily living and physical requirements in work and play. This stage of physiotherapy becomes more focused on exercise and self managed strategies to prevent reoccurrence of injury and create resilience in the body to move confidently through your day.
